Ms. Wunnicke was born in 1918 and live until September 20, 2014.  Born and raised in California, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University in 1939 and attended the University of Colorado Law School, where she graduated first in her class in 1945.  Ms. Wunnicke practice law first in Wyoming at a “a time when women weren’t allowed to sit on juries[,] and [Ms. Wunnicke] was often the only woman in the courtroom.” 

She never lost a jury trial. 

In 1969, Ms. Wunnicke and her family moved to Denver where she spent more than a decade as the Chief Deputy of Appeals for the Denver District Attorney’s Office.  She was an Adjunct Adjunct Professor of Law at DU and was the cornerstone of the law firm Hall & Evans until she retired in 2011. 

Ms. Wunnicke had Eight Attributes for a successful lawyer:
