The Justice Sonia Sotomayor Inn of Court is a group of lawyers, judges, and law students from diverse backgrounds and practice areas that works together to facilitate positive changes in our profession and our community.
The Justice Sonia Sotomayor Inn of Court held its first meeting on October 19, 2017. It is a charter Inn with the American Inns of Court. Justice Sonia Sotomayor gave her approval and permission to the Inn. The Justice Sonia Sotomayor Inn of Court was started by the Honorable Alfred C. Harrell (Ret.) and his pupilage group from the Rhone Brackett Inn of Court as their pupilage group’s presentation for the 2016-17 Inn year. While Denver has a robust number of Inns of Court, they felt the Denver legal community would benefit from an Inn that cost less to be a member to encourage new and governmental attorneys. Meetings are also held around the Denver-metro area.
The Justice Sonia Sotomayor Inn of Court meets September through May on the third Thursday of the month at a variety of locations. Please check the Meeting Calendar page for each month’s meeting locations. The Inn is made up of eight pupilage groups named after prominent Colorado lawyers. Members are arranged into the groups based on geographical areas in the Denver metro area. To keep costs low for new and government attorneys, dinners are not fancy, but are delicious.
